MinAverage Color-to-Gray and Dual Transform Color-to-Gray Converters

Here some code and also experimental results related to these two Color-to-Gray conversion methodologies are presented: 1) MinAverage and 2) Dual Transform

1) MinAverage Color-to-Gray Converter:

The MinAverage method was introduced in [Farrahi2010] (page 2189). The latest executable of this method can be download from here: http://www.synchromedia.ca/system/files/universal_color_to_gray_converter_plus_file.zip. The executable follows the same syntax used on the DIBCO series contests, and accepts the input and output file names as its arguments.

2) Dual Transform Color-to-Gray Converter:

The Dual-Transform method was introduced in [Farrahi2013]. The latest executable of this method can be download from here: http://www.synchromedia.ca/system/files/my_convert_using_pca_to_dual_plus_file.zip The executable follows the same syntax used on the DIBCO series contests, and accepts the input and output file names as its arguments.

3) Experimental Results: on Dataset 1 from (Hedjam R., et. al., Influence of color-to-gray conversion on the performance of document image binarization: toward a novel optimization problem, IEEE Trans. IP, Accepted. Dataset). Here the performance of the two proposed Color-to-Gray methodologies is evaluated on the dataset:
