Sebastián Peña Saldarriaga received his B.sc and M.Sc degrees with honors in Computer Science from the University of Marne-la-Vallée in 2004 and 2006. In 2007 he joined the Nantes Laboratory for Computer Science (LINA) as a Ph.D. student under the supervision of professors Christian Viard-Gaudin and Emmanuel Morin. He defended his Ph.D. thesis in March 2010. Since September 2010, he has been a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Synchromedia Lab, École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), in Montréal, Canada. His research interests include information access in handwritten data collections, noisy text analytics, machine learning and its applications in pattern recognition, information retrieval and pen-based interaction.

Reza FARRAHI MOGHADDAM received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and his Ph.D. degree in Physics from the Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, Iran, in 1995 and 2003, respectively. Since 2003, he has been with Vali-Asr University of Rafsandjan, Iran. Since 2007, he has been a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Synchromedia Laboratory for Multimedia Communication in Telepresence, École de Technologie Supérieure (University of Quebec), Montréal, QC, Canada. Dr. Farrahi has published more than 45 technical papers. His research interests include mathematical modeling for image processing and document image processing and understanding.

Guoqiang Zhong received his BS degree in Mathematics from Hebei Normal University, Shijiazhuang China, his MS degree in Operations Research and Cybernetics from Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), Beijing China, and his PhD in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASIA), Beijing China, in 2004, 2007 and 2011, respectively. Since October 2011, he has been a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Synchromedia Laboratory for Multimedia Communication in Telepresence, École de Technologie Supérieure (ETS), University of Quebec, Montreal, Canada. Guoqiang has published more than 10 technical papers in the areas of artificial intelligence, pattern recognition, machine learning, data mining and signal processing.
