Habib Louafi received an Engineering degree in Computer Science from the University of Oran, Algeria. He obtained his M.Sc. in computer systems from UQAM (Université du Québec à Montréal), and a Ph.D. degree in IT and mobile computing from ÉTS (École de Technologie Supérieure). He is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow with Synchromedia Lab since 2013.

Alireza Shameli-Sendi received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. with honours from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic). He received his Ph.D degree in computer engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal, Montreal, Canada. He is currently doing PostDoc at École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS) (Montreal, Canada) in collaboration with Ericsson Research Security Department (Montreal, Canada) with the aim to develop a new defence framework in cloud computing.


Vahid ASGHARI

Obtained his Ph.D degree in Telecommunications from INRS-EMT at Université du Québec, Montreal, Canada, in 2012 and his B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Azad University and the M.Sc. degree in telecommunication system from K.N. Toosi University of Technology in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He is currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at Synchromedia LAB for Multimedia Communication in Telepresence at École de Technologie Supérieure (ÉTS), constituante de l'Université du Québec and at McGill University, Canada. He is a recipient of Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Award from the Quebec Government FQRNT, 2012. He is also co-recipient of Best Paper Award from IEEE WCNC 2010.


Hakima Ould-Slimane

Hakima Ould-Slimane received an Engineering degree and a Master’s degree from École nationale supérieure d'informatique (ESI), Algeria. In 2011, she obtained her Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from Laval University, Québec. Then, at the VeriForm Laboratory (École Polytechnique de Montréal), she spent 2 years as a postdoctoral fellow working on ‘Security Mechanisms for collaborative Environments’. She is currently working as a postdoctoral fellow with Synchromedia Lab since 2015 and works on Secure Orchestration of Cloud Services to Protect M2M and Smart Cities Platforms.

Modeling and Performance Evaluation of Internet of Things

Shahin Vakilinia (S’07) received the B.Sc. degree from University of Tabriz, Tabriz, Iran and the M.Sc. degree from Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, both in electrical engineering in 2008 and 2010 respectively. He has got his Ph.D. in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Concordia University, Montreal, QC,
Canada in 2015. He has implemented a lot of projects having to do with wireless Ad-Hoc networks, Smart home and Cloud computing systems. He is now doing his Postdoctoral research at ETS Universite, Synchromedia Lab.


Ana Carolina Riekstin

Obtained her PhD in Computer Engineering in 2015 and her MSc in 2012 from the Polytechnic School of University of Sao Paulo. Received her BSc with honours in Computer Science in 2007 from the Institute of Mathematical and Computer Sciences of the University of Sao Paulo. Previously, worked at Univesp (Virtual University of Sao Paulo) as a technologies specialist, at Microsoft Research in Redmond/WA as a research summer intern, at Volkswagen do Brasil as a business analyst, and at PromonLogicalis as a consultant.

She obtained her M.Sc. Multimedia Engineering from the university Paris Est Marne la Vallée (U.P.E.M) (University of Paris 11, France) in 2008.
She received the B.Sc. in Software and Management from the Institut Supérieur de Gestion (I.S.G) (University of Tunis, Tunisia) in 2005.
She had also several years of industry experience in Canada and Africa in the areas of software engineering, IOT, Mobile Computing, ERP system and Management.

Yaser Esmaeili Salehani received the B.Sc. degree in communications engineering with Summa Cum Laude from Electrical Engineering Department, Khaje-Nasir Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2002, the M.Sc. degree in communications engineering from Electrical Engineering Department, Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, in 2004, the master of applied science (M.A.Sc.) in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, with the early graduate award, in 2011, and the Ph.D. degree in Communications and Signal Processing from Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, Queen’s University, Kingston, Canada, with the IEEE Research Excellence Award in 2016. He is currently a PDF with Synchromedia Laboratory at École de Technologie Supérieure, Montreal, Canada. His current research interests include signal and image processing in general, machine learning techniques and sparse problems, big data analysis such as hyperspectral images and medical imaging, manuscript dating/ageing and document analysis.
