Since April 2009, I am invited research scientist, working in the imagine group of Los Andes University (Bogota), on the Carotid Lumen Segmentation and Stenosis Grading Challenge (CLS). I am working on the pre processing step of the algorithm to remove noise and streak artefacts of 3D CT-Scan images.
 
The 28 of January 2009, I defended my PhD thesis in image processing at the Ecole de Technologie Superieure (ETS) in Montreal, Canada. The purpose of this thesis was the X-ray Adaptive Pre processing for Pedicle segmentation on PosteroAnterior Views of Patients affected by Idiopatic Adolescent Scoliosis (0).

From May to August 2005 and from September to December 2006, I worked under the direction of Pr. Farida Cheriet, at the LAVIANI laboratory of the Sainte-Justine Hospital research center, an academic hospital complex affiliated to the université de Montréal (UdM).
I worked on an algorithm for pedicle segmentation.

From April to December 2004, I worked under the supervision of Pr. Mohamed Cheriet, in the LIVIA (Laboratory of Image, Vision and Artificial Intelligence) group of the ETS.   
I worked on PDE's driven by diffusion fields and theirs applications to image processing.

During the academical year 2003-2003, I obtained the DEA MVA of the ENS Cachan. For the master thesis I integrated the TSI department of ENST-Paris (Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécoms ) under the supervision of Y.Gousseau and F. Roueff.  The purpose of the thesis was related to the "scale laws in natural images" (in French).
 

CURRENT RESEARCH INTEREST :

My current research pertains to the development of pre-processing tools for X-ray and CT-scan images, and for heteroscedastic images in general. It especially focuses on automatic denoising and PDE- based enhancing filters.

I am also working with segmentation algorithm. I develop an approach to segment low contrasted objects. I principally work with active contours with a priori knowledge on the object shape.
